The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced application support engineer to join our team as an integral member, providing technical support on systems delivered to clients with a focus on Data Governance. There is also scope to develop DevOps-related skills including infrastructure, automation, and incident management.
Role responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to support the platform, including components, configuration, health monitoring, issue resolution, proactive maintenance, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Project Managers to deliver end-to-end client onboarding activities and system solutions.
- Support existing client onboarding, data scanning, and automated reporting activities.
- Assist with AWS Cluster setup, configuration, and health.
- Support platform installations, configurations, and health checks.
- Manage platform version releases, including testing, use case development, and deployments.
- Take ownership of incident and problem records, applying troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to investigate, identify issues, restore services quickly, and keep records updated.
- Handle Service Requests efficiently, maintaining accurate records.
- Manage change records related to system and environment changes, participating in weekly CAB meetings as needed.
- Create and maintain knowledge articles or work instructions to foster a culture of sharing information and developing team skills.
Skills/Experience
- 5+ years in a technical application support role.
- Experience in installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise applications.
- Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu and Red Hat) and Windows operating systems.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault analysis skills.
- Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud platform.
- Experience with REST APIs and best practices.
- Familiarity with Service Management tools like Jira.
- Understanding of repositories, specifically GitHub.
- Knowledge of file sharing technologies.
- Understanding of ITIL framework.
- Strong customer-centric attitude and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexible, organized, and self-motivated.
- Legally authorized to work in the UK.
Advantageous Experience / Skills
- Experience in process automation technologies.
- Experience with Privileged Action Management tools like Delinea.
- Experience in data governance.
- Experience in applying and renewing certificates.
