Job description

Structural Fabrication company in Bradford BD11 needs Welder Fabricator.

Enjoy a 3-day weekend break! Friday & Saturday overtime available at T+1/2 if desired. All applicants must carry out a Fillet and Butt Weld Test on site before an offer is made (Proceeding to Coded Standard if offered!). Starting pay is £16.60 per hour PAYE, rising to £17.67 after successful completion of training and weld qualifications within 2 weeks.

The role of Welder Fabricator:

• MIG (MAG) welding of carbon (mild) steels ranging from 7mm-20mm in thickness.
• Welding to a coded standard, as brackets, beams, or other parts will be tested.

The workshop is newly renovated, clean, spacious, fully heated, and safe. PPE and respiratory equipment are supplied.

• Understanding & competence in multiple welding practices including MMA, MIG / MAG.
• Use of plasma & oxy-acetylene cutting equipment.
• Competent in steel work fabrication according to drawings, specs, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Safe setup & use of welding plant and equipment.
• Understanding welding defects and their causes.
• Weld qualification (codings) paid for by the company, with untaking within 2-4 weeks of starting, raising pay to £17.67/hr (then £17.99/hr with crane license).

Salary & Benefits:

• £17.67/hr after passing weld qualifications in the first 2 weeks; £17.99/hr after obtaining overhead crane license.
• Monday to Wednesday, 7am - 5pm; Thursday, 7am - 4.30pm.
• Overtime on Fridays & sometimes Saturdays at T+1/2 — optional.
• Immediate start after weld test; 'temp to perm' after 18 weeks.
• Basic salary of approximately £35,080 after completing qualifications and crane license, all paid for.
