ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for a Senior Bioinformatics Software Developer to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Cambridge area. As the Senior Bioinformatics Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the company's proprietary profiling platform, which supports drug discovery based on clinical data.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Bioinformatics Software Developer will include:

1. Designing and developing bioinformatics analysis tools and workflows.
2. Implementing production pipelines in a managed compute environment.
3. Optimising and streamlining production pipelines and processes to meet industry standards.
4. Evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies to improve and extend platform capabilities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

1. A PhD or Masters in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Proven industry experience working with genomic data within a cloud environment.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with writing production-level software in Python or Go.
