Salary: £350+ per day (depending on experience)

Here at 1st Step Solutions, we are supporting a Regional Office of a leading M&E Contractor who are currently recruiting an Electrical Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join their Project Team on a £4 Billion Project in Bridgwater.

As a Senior Authorised Person, you will be responsible for managing and supervising work on site, issuing and controlling Permits to Work, and ensuring full compliance with the day-to-day application of Electrical Safety Standards and Company procedures. You will support a major infrastructure project, contributing to the planning, coordination, and safe execution of high-risk electrical tasks. You must be competent to oversee and manage the safe operation and maintenance of HV and LV electrical systems across a complex project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tasks and duties based on the needs of the business, including, but not limited to the following:

1. Carry out SAP duties in line with Electrical Safety Rules
2. Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical works
3. Prepare, issue, and control Permits to Work, Switching Schedules, and Safety Documentation
4. Lead and manage HV / LV switching operations and isolations
5. Supervise operational teams to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and technical standards

Requirements:

1. Current or recent experience working as a SAP authorised position - for the right candidate, experience as an AP may also be considered, as investment in training courses can be used
2. Extensive experience in electrical power systems, including high voltage operations and safety procedures
3. NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical Engineering, including Testing and Inspection
4. Strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Electrical Safety Rules, and Risk Management
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills
