Duration: 2 years initially on this phase, full project up to six years

Salary: £350+ per day (depending on experience)

Here at 1st Step Solutions, we are supporting a Regional Office of a leading M&E Contractor who are currently recruiting an Electrical Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join their Project Team on a £4 Billion Project in Bridgwater.

As a Senior Authorised Person, you will be responsible for managing and supervising work on site, issuing and controlling Permits to Work, and ensuring full compliance with the day-to-day application of Electrical Safety Standards and Company procedures. You will be supporting on a major infrastructure project, contributing to the planning, coordination, and safe execution of high-risk electrical tasks. You must be competent to oversee and manage the safe operation and maintenance of HV and LV electrical systems across a complex project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tasks and duties based on the needs of the business, including, but not limited to the following:

• Carry out SAP duties in line with Electrical Safety Rules
• Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical works
• Prepare, issue and control Permits to work, Switching Schedules, and Safety Documentation
• Lead and manage HV / LV switching operations and isolations
• Supervise operational teams to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and technical standards

Requirements:

• Current or recent experience of working as a SAP authorised position - for the right candidate, experience as an AP may also be considered, as investment in training courses can be used
• Extensive experience in electrical power systems, including high voltage operations and safety procedures
• NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical Engineering, including Testing and Inspection
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Electrical Safety Rules and Risk Management
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
