Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible and accountable for planning, executing, and closing projects. They define the project, build a comprehensive work plan, and manage to the budget. The core function is to collaborate with other functions within the business to implement new projects aligned with the company's growth expectations. Project Engineers demonstrate that they embrace our company core values, have a can-do attitude, and are dedicated to the timely completion of their work. Key Responsibilities
- Communication
Construct and adhere to project plans.
Proficient in multiple project management software tools.
Ability to develop project plans considering multiple variables.
Be assertive with other functions whilst maintaining professionalism.
Attend and contribute to morning SQCDP meetings and daily communication sessions.
Build and maintain direct relationships with colleagues and customers, communicating clearly about daily operations.
Escalate issues promptly to the Engineering Manager. - Safety
Collaborate with H&S officers and leadership to reduce risks by following risk assessments and work instructions.
Ensure safe working practices and maintain a safe environment (e.g., 5S & risk assessments).
Comply with safety controls (method statements) in designated areas.
Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns promptly. - Quality
Ensure projects meet customer expectations and provide timely, professional responses to concerns.
Report quality issues to line management and actively seek continuous improvement.
Comply with company quality standards. - Cost
Meet project milestones, targets, and objectives.
Ensure project deadlines are met efficiently with a trend toward increased productivity.
Continuously pursue productivity improvements through VA activities and waste elimination. - Delivery
Manage the allocated budget to support company objectives.
Collaborate with support functions and NPI teams to deliver exceptional internal service.
Maintain accurate weekly project progress updates.
Utilize capacity effectively and support project delivery promises.
Communicate delays and adjusted timelines to customers and systems.
Coordinate with leadership and departments to resolve exceptions. - People
Participate in the ‘Switched On’ Rewarding and Recognition program.
Uphold company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with team members to optimize efficiency.
Maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
Engage in learning and development activities, including PDR cycles.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a high-pressure, rapidly changing manufacturing environment is highly valued over formal qualifications.
- Leadership and objective-setting experience are advantageous.
Essential Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Project management experience in a Mechanical and/or Electrical manufacturing setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and stages.
Desirable Skills
- Formal project management certification.
- Product knowledge of electrical control cabinets and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Competency in Microsoft SharePoint.
