Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining the policies and standards that guide technology delivery, possessing significant experience in modern, cloud-based technology standards and practices.

As a Solution Architect, you are accountable for leading a team of architects and providing architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high-volume, mission-critical products and services. There will also be opportunities to oversee ongoing architectural needs within our Control Room application suites.

You'll work closely with our Product Managers, Delivery, and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap to meet both our commercial and technological goals.

The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance to ensure successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products into clients while protecting our commercial interests.

To succeed, you need to mediate between people and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, particularly stakeholders at all levels. You should understand the evolutionary nature of technology delivery in an agile environment. Our stakeholder expectations are high, and you'll need to facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity within constrained timescales.

The Solution Architect will collaborate with the project or programme manager and the wider architecture team to:

• Ensure scope of supply is correctly documented and maintained
• Identify and manage technical project risks
• Ensure non-functional requirements from customers are agreed and documented
• Make impact assessments practical, with well-defined scope and implementation, using existing products where possible
• Identify opportunities for selling additional product capabilities

Qualifications

You will have a good understanding/awareness of:

• C++
• C#
• SQL Server
• Windows platforms
• Domains / AD
• Mitel skills-based routing integration

And good practical knowledge of some or all of the following:

• C coding
• SIP protocol
• VOIP – RTP / RTCP, including latency / jitter handling

You will also have in-depth knowledge of some or all of the following:

• Tetra network behaviors – specifically Motorola Dimetra
• 3GPP network behaviors – related to Kodiak MCX but should be standard
• MCX API usage of Softil SDK
• Analogue Radio base stations and features – VHF, MF
• Telephone PABX functionality
• Airwave certification processes
• EISEC service

The Solution Architect will manage relationships with customer technical staff, providing support for technical issues such as firewall settings, and supporting the bid process with technical responses, infrastructure sizing (mainly cloud-based), and clarification support.

The role also involves promoting and leading the architectural vision within the team and across wider business and technology groups.
