We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Accounting (US) to join our growing, dynamic global business in the online gaming industry.
This role offers a hybrid working model, with 3 days based in our London or Malta office and 2 days working from home.
Your Responsibilities:
As Head of Accounting (US), you will support the Group Financial Controller and Head of FP&A in:
- Preparing monthly management accounts for the US subsidiaries.
- Reviewing US subsidiary bookkeeping.
- Preparing accounting schedules, including bank reconciliations, accruals, and revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Collaborating with the Group FP&A team to analyze P&L and variances to budgets and forecasts.
- Preparing management accounts packages for review, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Liaising with US subsidiary management to ensure comprehensive reporting.
- Coordinating with auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and managing statutory and statistical returns.
- Developing and maintaining internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensuring SOX compliance, managing internal controls over financial reporting, and maintaining documentation, testing, and remediation processes.
- Implementing and updating accounting policies and procedures.
Project Management Responsibilities:
Manage projects such as:
- EPR enhancements for improved reporting and controls.
- Implementation of a consolidation tool for real-time financial data integration.
- Enhancements to the Revenue Automation platform.
- Integration between Revenue Automation and ERP systems.
- Overseeing the use and improvement of financial software and systems.
- Other ad hoc finance and operational projects.
Candidate Requirements:
- Accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW).
- Experience in financial reporting, preferably for listed companies.
- Deep knowledge of SOX, IFRS, US GAAP, and tax compliance.
- Experience with tax reconciliation and reporting.
- Experience in audits and reviews for listed companies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely with teams across the UK and North America.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central/Navision, QuickBooks, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Industry experience is advantageous.
