Job description

Singh & Jones have partnered with an established global facade consultancy, which is looking to develop their London office. As a forward-thinking organization, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Facade Director to become the focal point for projects in London, Europe, and India.

The role of Associate Facade Director will report to the UK Director.

Responsibilities

1. The position will be integral to the continued advancement of the client's facade consultancy and building refurbishment practice across the United Kingdom and Europe.
2. This is a unique opportunity to build a practice of your own, supported by the resources, reputation, and longevity of a well-established firm with over 65 years in the business.
3. As a practice leader in the London office, you will provide technical expertise in the UK market while collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams locally and across the company.
4. You will apply your deep understanding of architectural engineering principles, experience with various building envelope systems, components, and materials, and leverage advanced technologies and investigative capabilities. You will interpret current and historic building codes to make sound judgments and deliver innovative yet practical solutions.
5. Your inquiry areas will include building physics, heat, air, and moisture transport effects on building enclosures, material characteristics and behavior, fire reaction, and the influence of climate and sustainability on material selection and performance.
6. Responsibilities extend beyond technical project management to include fostering client relationships, building and mentoring a team, contributing to research initiatives, and establishing an industry presence through participation in professional organizations.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate is motivated to develop an emerging practice within the local market, curious, able to handle complex assignments, committed to practical solutions, independent, resourceful, and effective in team building. Additional qualifications include being a Registered Architect or Chartered Engineer, holding an advanced degree in architecture, architectural engineering, or a related field, and having at least 10 years of relevant industry experience. Preference will be given to proven leaders who have successfully developed and managed small practices.
