Female Only Support Worker
Norfolk, Taverham
Permanent, Part Time (18.75 hours per week)
Pay £13.21 per hour (£25,838 per annum) Pro Rata and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Join us in this great and rewarding job, as our Support Worker (known Internally as Positive Behavioural Support Worker). You’ll join our team to provide person-centred and strengths-based support to our customer (let's call them V) and help them reach their full potential.

V has complex needs including a moderate learning disability. She loves the outdoors and going on trips to National Trust homes and gardens. V is bubbly, chatty and loves to sing and dance!

Typical day as a Support Worker

  1. Helping V overcome barriers and help them lead a fulfilling and meaningful life and reach their true potential.
  2. Recognising their strengths and abilities and help them take the small steps at their pace, never losing sight of their dreams and aspirations!
  3. Supporting V using Positive Behavioural Support model to promote independence and social inclusion through person centred support.
  4. Monitoring our customers’ mental and physical health to identify any signs of deterioration and take positive risk management to their health and wellbeing.

You have
  1. Experience in a Complex Care setting, with a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care or are prepared to work towards it.
  2. Worked as a Support Worker, supporting people with complex needs, or behaviours of distress.
  3. A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to V's needs, as well as to the occasion and circumstances, even when they challenge you.
  4. Experience of positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.
  5. Driving is essential for this role.

Our team
You’ll join our Team Leader and our sparkly new team who are all joining Home Group this year, so you’ll all be learning together! We are super passionate about what we do. You'll also join the wider team of PBS support workers and team leaders in Norfolk, there’s loads of us and we’re a supportive bunch.

Job details
  1. You’ll work primarily in V’s home to support her with independent living.
  2. You'll join the team on rota, with occasional sleep-ins for which we pay an enhancement.
  3. Able to use technology to create and update support plans, communicate with colleagues and complete online learning.
  4. We'll make sure you have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and support.
  5. You'll need an enhanced DBS check to do this job, which we pay for.
  6. Full manual driving licence is essential.
