This full-time role is the perfect opportunity for an aspiring designer to facilitate in the creative development of TALA. Working within a fast-paced start-up, your role is integral to the smooth running of our day to day tasks within the design and product team. Working across all categories to assist with the design and development of existing and new ranges, supporting with fabric, trim and graphic development. You will work closely within the whole product team, reporting into the Designer.

Tasks

• CAD creation and development, ensuring full accuracy and high level of detail.
• Assistance with design and development of our existing active ranges. Working into new styles and silhouettes.
• Assistance with market and trend research for new ranges including new styles, fabrics and trims. Helping to create mood boards on Illustrator for design presentations.
• Responsible for assisting the Designer in creating tech packs to a high level and ensuring they are kept up to date. Annotating CADs, adding relevant imagery and adding fabric and trim information to the BOM.
• Creation of range overviews and ensuring they are regularly updated and fully accurate.
• Assistance in setting up presentation decks and ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
• Sending suppliers a package of Design tech packs, Garment Tech workbooks and lab dip requests.
• Assisting the Asst Buyer with lab dip management, checking against pantones and feeding back to suppliers.
• Manage new trim requests, working closely with Asst Buyer for trim development and sign off.
• Assist with new graphics developments.
• Manage fabric library, keeping track of new fabric orders and organising the space.
• Participate in fit sessions, taking any notes relevant for updating CADs / tech packs.
• Manage product room upkeep and tidiness.
• Assist with the set-up and preparation for all design meetings. Coordinate relevant samples and documents.
• Regular note taking within meetings to a high level of detail and accuracy.

Requirements

• At least 3 years experience within the fashion design industry
• Strong level of experience using Adobe Illustrator
• Good excel skills and Google sheets
• Ability to adapt and work across our active, lifestyle and outerwear ranges
• Base knowledge of fabrics including sportswear fabrics
• Creative with a commercial eye
• Incredibly organised with close attention to detail
• Independence and confident to work on own (under supervision of Designer)
• Experience in fast-paced working environment
• Flexible, adaptable with a good initiative
• Proactive and eager to learn
• Work well across multiple teams internally and externally.
