Job description

TALA, a digital-first women’s activewear company, has been on a rocket ship since its founding in 2019 by Entrepreneur Grace Beverley. Scaled on amazing organic social traction, we’ve matured into a business with a multi-faced marketing strategy across multiple channels. Off the back of our success, we’ve raised funds with world class venture capital and are in a period of extraordinary growth.

This full-time role is the perfect opportunity for an aspiring designer to facilitate in the creative development of TALA. Working within a fast-paced start-up, your role is integral to the smooth running of our day-to-day tasks within the design and product team. You will work across all categories to assist with the design and development of existing and new ranges, supporting fabric, trim, and graphic development. You will work closely with the entire product team, reporting to the Designer.

Tasks
  • CAD creation and development, ensuring full accuracy and high detail.
  • Assist with design and development of existing active ranges and new styles.
  • Conduct market and trend research for new ranges, styles, fabrics, and trims. Create mood boards on Illustrator for design presentations.
  • Help create tech packs, annotate CADs, add imagery, and include fabric and trim info in BOM.
  • Develop and update range overviews accurately.
  • Assist in setting up presentation decks, ensuring they are current and precise.
  • Send suppliers design tech packs, workbooks, and lab dip requests.
  • Support lab dip management, matching Pantone colors and providing feedback to suppliers.
  • Manage new trim requests, collaborating with the Asst Buyer for development and approval.
  • Assist with graphic development.
  • Maintain fabric library, tracking orders and organizing the space.
  • Participate in fit sessions, noting updates for CADs and tech packs.
  • Keep product room organized and tidy.
  • Prepare for design meetings, coordinating samples and documents.
  • Take detailed notes during meetings for accurate records.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the fashion design industry.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills.
  • Ability to work across active, lifestyle, and outerwear ranges.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrics, including sportswear fabrics.
  • Creative with a commercial perspective.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and proactive.
  • Eager to learn and collaborate across teams.
