Job Title: DCIM Technician

Our activities include timekeeping, software development, broadcast engineering, and content creation, making us truly the 11th Formula 1 team.
We are seeking a DCIM Technician for our Race Engineering & Infrastructure team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based at our Biggin Hill office. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s premier sport and entertainment spectacle?
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily and event support at the F1 Media and Technology Centre.
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).
- Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.
- Collaborate with the Technical Services team to support teams at the MTC.
- Label and document equipment and cabling infrastructure accurately.
- Monitor data centre capacity and forecast future needs.
- Assist with building site monitoring systems to ensure operational efficiency in technical areas.
- Conduct routine checks and respond to alarms in technical areas.
- Install and test rack and technical workstation power distribution equipment and cabling.
- Maintain detailed records of data centre and technical area configurations.
- Perform racking/stacking, patching, break-fix tasks, decommissioning, infrastructure installations, and rack modifications.
- Manage day-to-day operation of the DCIM software.
- Create, maintain, and support technical centre processes.
- Provide service desk support for technical centre work requests.
About You:
- Extensive experience in a Data Centre environment.
- Experience managing DCIM platforms (e.g., Sunbird, Nlyte).
- Thorough knowledge of Copper and Fibre cabling systems.
- Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (e.g., Fluke, OTDR).
- Experience with power and connectivity patching.
- Knowledge of low voltage power systems, UPSs, power distribution, and generators.
- Experience working in live broadcast environments.
- Understanding of fire and life safety systems (Vesda and Inergen).
- Familiarity with BMS & SCADA Systems.
- Troubleshooting skills in server and storage hardware, network cabling & protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP), power, and cooling systems.
- Experience with 24/7 shift work.
- Ability to work under pressure independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
- Full UK/EU Driving License.
