We are recruiting for a DCIM Technician for our Race Engineering & Infrastructure team on a 12-month FTC, based at our Biggin Hill office. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day and event support at the F1 Media and Technology Centre.
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).
- Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.
- Work alongside the Technical Services team to provide data center support to teams at the MTC.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of equipment & cabling infrastructure.
- Capacity planning: Monitor data center capacity and forecast future needs.
- Monitor and assist with building site monitoring systems to ensure smooth operation in technical areas.
- Provide routine checks in technical areas and respond to alarms.
- Install & test rack and technical workstation power distribution equipment and cabling.
- Maintain detailed records of the data center and technical area configurations.
- Carry out racking/stacking, patching, break-fix tasks, decommissioning, infrastructure installations & rack modifications.
- Day-to-day management of the DCIM software.
- Create, maintain, and support technical center processes.
- Provide service desk support on technical center work requests.
About You:
- Extensive experience working in a Data Centre environment.
- Experience working with and managing DCIM platforms (Sunbird, Nlyte, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of Copper and Fibre cabling systems in a data centre environment.
- Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).
- Patching of equipment (power and connectivity).
- Experience with low voltage power systems, UPSs, power distribution, and generators.
- Experience working in a live broadcast environment.
- Understanding of fire and life safety systems (Vesda and Inergen).
- Knowledge of BMS & SCADA Systems.
- Troubleshooting expertise in server and storage hardware, network cabling & protocols (TCP/IP/SNMP), power, and cooling systems.
- Willingness to work 24-7 shift patterns.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
- Full UK/EU Driving License.
