We are recruiting for a DCIM Technician for our Race Engineering & Infrastructure team on a 12-month FTC, based at our Biggin Hill office. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide day-to-day and event support at the F1 Media and Technology Centre.
2. Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).
3. Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.
4. Work alongside the Technical Services team to provide data center support to teams at the MTC.
5. Ensure proper labeling and documentation of equipment & cabling infrastructure.
6. Capacity planning: Monitor data center capacity and forecast future needs.
7. Monitor and assist with building site monitoring systems to ensure smooth operation in technical areas.
8. Provide routine checks in technical areas and respond to alarms.
9. Install & test rack and technical workstation power distribution equipment and cabling.
10. Maintain detailed records of the data center and technical area configurations.
11. Carry out racking/stacking, patching, break-fix tasks, decommissioning, infrastructure installations & rack modifications.
12. Day-to-day management of the DCIM software.
13. Create, maintain, and support technical center processes.
14. Provide service desk support on technical center work requests.

About You:

1. Extensive experience working in a Data Centre environment.
2. Experience working with and managing DCIM platforms (Sunbird, Nlyte, etc.).
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Copper and Fibre cabling systems in a data centre environment.
4. Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).
5. Patching of equipment (power and connectivity).
6. Experience with low voltage power systems, UPSs, power distribution, and generators.
7. Experience working in a live broadcast environment.
8. Understanding of fire and life safety systems (Vesda and Inergen).
9. Knowledge of BMS & SCADA Systems.
10. Troubleshooting expertise in server and storage hardware, network cabling & protocols (TCP/IP/SNMP), power, and cooling systems.
11. Willingness to work 24-7 shift patterns.
12. Ability to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team.
13. Excellent problem-solving, communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
14. Full UK/EU Driving License.
