Lead Engineer

Job Type: Permanent Full Time

Location: Mobile role covering Nottingham down to Cambridge - FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE ESSENTIAL

Salary: £43,000 per annum plus Van, plus on call allowance, and overtime

Working hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday

Role overview:

To provide technical support on Electrical & Mechanical Services to buildings and plant, including planned maintenance and reactive repair services on site. To ensure that new and innovative techniques are developed and implemented to the highest standards to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

To support the Site Safety, Health and Environment teams and activities.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Lead and develop the client's Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance team through effective communication, training, and development, ensuring staff are fully competent and trained.
  • Support and develop a managed and cost-effective maintenance programme for the site services, buildings, plant, systems, and equipment.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and produce proposals including cost and timescales. Monitor the progress of works to ensure completion to satisfaction and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure continuity of essential site systems and equipment.
  • Design, plan, and project manage minor site refurbishment and equipment installations.
  • Support and promote safety, health, and environmental improvements, and regularly monitor safety performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage departmental human resources and operating budgets, ensuring financial management, forecasting, and reporting are met.
  • Develop partnerships with suppliers to achieve mutual benefits and rationalise the supplier database.
  • Identify, develop, and review service level agreements and KPIs to maintain high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop the existing M&E business unit to ensure growth and stability linked to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Identify training and development needs, including creating performance assessment systems.
  • Contribute to change management programs for services, products, systems, and processes.
  • Maintain day-to-day contact with customer representatives and attend meetings as directed.
