Shift Engineer (Electrically Biased)

Location: South Essex (RM18) - Commutable from Grays, Romford, Pufleet, Basildon, Southend-On-Sea, Wickford

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Days & Nights

Salary & Benefits:

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, renowned for product quality and industry standards. They are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, electrically biased, to join their team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Carrying out PPM, reactive & predictive maintenance/breakdown analysis
• Working on high-speed production, processing & packaging machinery
• Maintaining machinery such as conveyors, silos, blowers, steam & boiler systems, industrial control systems, dryers, robotics, chillers, air systems, automation & control systems
• Fault finding and repairs on PLCs, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, sensors, drives, inverters, circuits, hydraulics
• Stores and spare parts management using Maximo asset care management systems

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias
• Completed a recognized engineering apprenticeship with formal qualifications
• HNC qualification is ideal
• Ability to respond effectively and safely to breakdowns
• Electrical & mechanical fault-finding capabilities
• Experience in FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Experience with hydraulics & pneumatics, PLC fault finding
• 17th or 18th Edition beneficial
• Self-motivated, team player, strong communicator, enthusiastic, driven
• Ability to work independently, sometimes unsupervised
• Good IT skills, familiar with SAP
