Overview

Stirling Dynamics is recruiting Modelling and Simulation Engineers for the Simulation, Dynamics and Control team. We are expanding due to upcoming projects and growth, seeking both permanent and contract engineers at all experience levels.

The successful engineers will develop complex control algorithms and vehicle/system models for next-generation marine applications, covering model-based design, controller tuning, model building, and testing. You will work on cutting-edge algorithms and tools, contributing to integrated model sets.

Modelling, simulation, and control are core to Stirling Dynamics' capabilities, with over 30 years of experience. This role offers opportunities to collaborate across Marine, Aerospace, eVTOL, and cockpit control sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of model-based processes, MATLAB/Simulink, and control theory, with good interpersonal skills for team collaboration. The role is mainly based in Bristol, with flexible and hybrid working options.

Responsibilities

• Developing task definitions with the technical lead
• Defining model and control algorithm requirements
• Building and testing models
• Peer reviewing models
• Presenting results and models to clients
• Following formal verification procedures

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar (or equivalent experience)
