Job description

Technology Infrastructure Engineer - DDI

Join HSBC's UK technology team, working closely with our global businesses to design and build digital services for millions of customers worldwide. Our teams include DevOps Engineers, IT Architects, Developers, Infrastructure specialists, Cybersecurity experts, and Project Managers.

Principal Responsibilities
  1. Define, deliver, and support strategic outcomes for services and applications within the DDI team.
  2. Maintain environment efficiency with minimal customer disruption.
  3. Collaborate with the global team on infrastructure deliverables and support.
  4. Follow ITIL processes such as incident, problem, change, and release management, implementing best practices.
  5. Apply agile principles for daily workload management and visibility.
  6. Lead service improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  7. Participate in on-call support rotations, providing 2nd/3rd line DDI incident support.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong understanding of network hardware, software, and IT support principles, with experience in IT infrastructure roles.
  • Expertise in managing enterprise-scale DDI solutions (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).
  • Proven team player with reliable communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead crisis response and work under pressure.
  • Experience managing service delivery in dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of software development and deployment lifecycles.
  • Project management skills for leading large projects.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new technologies.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with DDI tools like Infoblox, QIP, or Cygna AMS/AMM.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, CI/CD tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Git).
  • Scripting skills in Perl, Python, Shell, SQL, or Javascript.
