Job Description:

Do you have experience in treatment processes and an understanding of manufacturing engineering? This is an opportunity for you to build your career as a Treatment Process Engineer within our Transmissions Centre of Excellence at Leonardo UK, Helicopter Division. You will provide expert technical support and advice on Treatment Processes within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing team.

You will work in a structured, busy, and technically challenging environment, supporting manufacturing activities focused on Treatment Processes, primarily copper plating, for gears ranging from 30mm to 600mm in diameter on helicopter components.

For internal candidates, please note this is JFF level 5 - Manufacturing.

What you will do as a Treatment Process Engineer:

• Provide technical support and expertise for copper plating treatment operations and related processes.
• Utilize and develop strategies to improve product quality within gear manufacturing, reducing non-conformance.
• Develop knowledge of tooling requirements for plating and masking operations.
• Create and implement best practices for maintaining high manufacturing standards, inspection rationalization, and process security.
• Develop and deliver improvement action plans and initiatives.

What we are looking for:

• Educated to at least HNC or Degree in Engineering with a strong technical background and relevant manufacturing experience.
• Detailed understanding of electroplating treatment processes.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and treatment inspection, including non-destructive testing.
• Experience with CATIA (V5), ENOVIA, or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage conflicting requirements and multiple projects.
• Ability to drive change and process improvements.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering or shop support is preferable.
