Job description

We have a new opportunity to be part of our Procurement team in the role of Technical Buyer.

As a Technical Buyer, you will play a critical role in procuring complex components and assemblies to support the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure components are delivered on time, to cost and quality standards, and with the agility required in a high-performance motorsport environment.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Procuring and expediting components used across the F1 car and wider engineering activities.
  2. Monitoring ERP data to ensure supply chain accuracy and consistently meet departmental KPIs.
  3. Coordinating the logistics of supplier materials and ensuring timely availability.
  4. Communicating procurement challenges and delivery delays to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Mitigating risks to quality, cost, and lead time through informed sourcing decisions.
  6. Ensuring suppliers meet technical specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
  7. Acting as a key liaison with suppliers to improve lead times, delivery performance, and value.
  8. Supporting onboarding of new suppliers alongside the Supplier Quality Team to strengthen supply chain capability.
  9. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers for consistent and clear communication.
  10. Working proactively, professionally, and respectfully within the company’s structure.
  11. Performing other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  1. Strong understanding of component procurement within Formula One or similar high-performance engineering environment, across a range of materials and categories including composites, metallics, electronics, and tooling.
  2. Sound knowledge of component manufacturing and assembly processes.
  3. Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or equivalent.
  4. Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  5. Calm and confident working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  6. Clear and respectful communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Flexible and adaptable team player who can navigate a dynamic operational environment.
  8. Confident decision-maker with a results-oriented mindset.
  9. Enthusiastic and versatile, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  10. Strong commitment to Health & Safety standards.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
