Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our growing team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems in a food processing environment. Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspect machinery and equipment for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
2. Troubleshoot and repair production and processing equipment, with a focus on modern automated systems.
3. Analyze complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions while adhering to all safety guidelines.
4. Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions.
5. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure minimal downtime.
6. Dismantle defective machinery and install new or repaired parts.
7. Clean and lubricate machinery components, including shafts, bearings, and gears.
8. Maintain operations of various systems, such as pneumatic, hydraulic, and ammonia systems.
9. Install and repair electrical components, including transformers, switches, breakers, and wiring.
10. Perform structural repairs and replacements on equipment as needed.
11. Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to repair metal parts.
12. Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment and systems.
13. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals for repairs and installations.
14. Work with Material Handling Equipment and maintain safety standards.
15. Work efficiently in a cold storage environment, with production rooms maintained at 32°F (and colder in some areas).

What You Bring:

1. A strong understanding of industrial maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
2. Proven experience working with automated systems and machinery in a production environment.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
4. Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
5. Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated in a dynamic, industrial setting.
6. Comfort working in a refrigerated environment for extended periods.
7. A strong work ethic and commitment to safety and high standards.
