Nursery: Bright Horizons Little Stars Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: From £25,222.70 per annum (dependant on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire, OX11

We are looking for a full time, passionate Early Years Assistant to join our Bright Horizons Little Stars situated in Harwell.

The beautiful 63-place nursery is proudly rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is based in Didcot with onsite parking and good transport links. The nursery offers a wide range of extracurricular activities such as Forest School, and features well-resourced rooms and a spacious garden for lots of outdoor teaching and learning!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working as part of a nursery team looking after babies and children up to the age of 5.
  • Having daily adventures with our children through interactive play, activities, reading and helping them with their curious minds through the learning curriculum.
  • Communicating with parents daily on their child’s activities.
  • Providing a caring and supportive environment where the children feel safe and looked after.
  • Supporting colleagues to encourage the children’s development towards key milestones.
  • Promoting and ensuring child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working with children ideal but not essential - Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar.
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents.
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.
  • Sound understanding of child protection and the safeguarding of children.
