SECURITY ARCHITECT – OUTSIDE IR35

NEW OUTSIDE IR35 CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE FOR A SECURITY ARCHITECT IN FARNBOROUGH

• Searchability NS&D has a permanent opportunity for a Security Architect to work across an exciting range of projects.
• Must have active MOD DV Clearance
• Day rate up to £675 Outside IR35
• Role is based in Farnborough – 3/4 days on site per week.

WHAT WILL THE SECURITY ARCHITECT BE DOING?

• Risk Management within a Defence and Security Sector.
• Designing security / cyber architectures proportionate to the GSC of the systems.
• Delivering security architectures in conjunction with other IT Architects and SMEs.
• Applying security design specifics to develop the security architecture.
• Providing strategic direction for security projects.
• Producing evidence to meet various MOD regulations.
• Designing options and solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Collaborating with teams across the business including Software Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Agile, and Cyber Security.
• Holding or recently holding government security clearance, or being suitable for vetting (e.g., no serious criminal record, right to work in UK, ideally 5 years’ UK residency).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• Risk management using methodologies like NIST 800-53.
• Supporting development in a secure by design methodology.
• Working at a technical level with teams.
• Identifying, designing, and selecting security components (network, endpoints, cryptography, authentication, authorization, data inspection) for infrastructures including cloud environments.
• Understanding legal and regulatory topics related to cybersecurity.
• Creating security documentation such as risk assessments, policies, test plans, and evaluation documents.
• Knowledge of JSP 604 / 453 and assurance artefacts.
• High standards in report and design documentation.

DESIRABLE:

• Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD in secure environments.
• Understanding constraints in secure, safety-critical development environments.
• Knowledge of systems engineering concepts that inherently protect systems.
• Understanding of MOD and departmental IT in defense/security sectors.
• Experience working with MOD Accreditors.
• Familiarity with tech stack including Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache (NiFi, Kafka), NodeJS, Typescript, MongoDB, AI, Machine Learning, etc.
