Reserving Manager

The Opportunity:

We're looking for a Reserving Manager to join our Reserving team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Your role:

Reporting to the Head of Reserving (UK & Europe), you'll provide actuarial advice to relevant business units and serve as a key contact with Underwriters, Claims, and Finance representatives. You will deliver quarterly reserving advice, contribute to business planning, analyze reserve variability, and support portfolio analyses across relevant segments, assisting the actuarial manager as needed.

Other responsibilities:
  • Supporting the UK & Europe reserving team
  • Focusing on specific aspects of the portfolio
  • Delivering reserving results and managing post-reserving processes
  • Performing actual vs. expected analyses regularly
  • Parameterizing reserving and underwriting variability with the capital team
  • Supporting business planning discussions
  • Conducting ad-hoc portfolio analyses on key segments
  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships to enhance customer focus
  • Communicating results, issues, sensitivities, and uncertainties clearly
  • Coaching and managing junior team members
About You:
  • Post-Qualified Actuary (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in actuarial analysis, modeling, and underwriting
  • Experience in London Market / General Insurance
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance is advantageous
  • Ability to coordinate across teams and departments effectively
  • Understanding of compliance, risks, and uncertainties in actuarial work
  • Awareness of developments in the actuarial profession
  • Understanding of accounting environments and regulatory regimes
