Job description

Role overview:

This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy, and determination to drive and develop the business. We're looking for a manager with experience in developing the standards and reputation of a gym, while nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
2. Maintain adherence to and uphold the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
3. Conduct regular safety checks (daily, weekly, monthly), report and address defects to ensure the building and equipment are safe.
4. Recruit and manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure operational coverage and delivery of daily expectations.
5. Hold regular team meetings to support development and communication.
6. Achieve all set sales and membership targets.
7. Drive and maximise secondary revenue streams.
8. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness across the gym facility.
9. Manage in-house cleaners to ensure cleaning standards are met and oversee weekly banking to minimise wastage and maximise profit.
10. Ensure uniform standards are followed by all team members.
11. Deliver outstanding member service consistently.
12. Create an enjoyable working environment for the team.
13. Act as an ambassador for JD Gyms.

Skills and Experience:

1. Proven success in management within the leisure industry.
2. Passionate about customer service and capable of inspiring leadership.
3. Qualified at least to Level 2 Gym Instructor.
4. Experience in driving sales, local marketing, and team management.
5. Preferably experienced as a General Manager or Fitness Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility.
