Robotics Engineer Required In Shropshire

This is a great opportunity for a Junior or Graduate Robotics Engineer seeking their first role, or an experienced Robotics Engineer with some work experience who would like to work for a leading agricultural business.

This position involves working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with an early finish on Friday). The role offers an annual salary between GBP 40,000 and GBP 60,000 (DOE). The hiring manager prefers someone based in the office five days a week, with an option to work from home one day every two weeks. A relocation package is available for candidates more than two hours away from Shropshire willing to move to the area.

The ideal candidate will have experience with ROS2 or ROS, and proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or Python. Candidates with previous experience as a Robotics, Mechatronics, or Software Engineer with ROS, ROS2, C++, or Python are highly desirable.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.

What You Will Do

1. Integrate autonomous navigation solutions using the ROS2 Navigation Stack, enhancing robotic perception, planning, and control.
2. Develop and implement 3D mapping algorithms for real-time outdoor environment mapping.
3. Utilise semantic mapping to improve robot interaction and task execution.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration solutions.
5. Lead projects from concept to deployment, ensuring timely delivery.
6. Engage in agile development, applying V&V processes to ensure product quality.

What You Will Bring

1. Proficiency with the ROS2 Navigation Stack and related tools.
2. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
3. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software/Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or related.
4. Experience with ROS2, including package development and system integration.
5. Experience in agile methodologies and V&V processes.
