Job description

We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Wanlip, Leicestershire.

Hours: Permanent, full-time, 45 hours per week.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll work within the Severn Trent contract, supporting compliance, cost-effectiveness, and developing carbon- and water-conscious solutions during the pre-construction phase. You will ensure schemes meet the Client's Asset Management Programme (AMP) objectives and regulatory commitments related to performance and schedule.

This diverse role covers key areas including Health & Safety, Planning, Technical, Leadership & Management, Quality, Cost, and Client Management, ensuring no two days are the same. Typical responsibilities include:

• Applying your understanding of design principles within the water industry across infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in water and wastewater settings, ensuring the correct technical skills are applied and resources are appropriately allocated.
• Promoting collaboration within your team for right-first-time designs across disciplines, considering buildability, client preferences, and subcontractor designs.
• Contributing to and managing project clause 31 and 32 programmes, understanding task planning and short-interval control within wider project planning.
• Checking and approving designs, initiating project reviews as necessary.
• Communicating key risks and opportunities across all projects.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you:

• Have a working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and related guidance (L153).
• Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud as the CDE (Common Data Environment) for managing digital content delivery and approval.
• Hold CSCS accreditation or are willing to obtain it during employment.
• Possess a full UK driving license.
