Job description

We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Wanlip, Leicestershire.

Location: Leicestershire, Wanlip

Hours: Permanent, full-time 45 hours per week

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll work within the Severn Trent contract, supporting compliance, cost-effectiveness, and developing carbon and water considerate solutions during the pre-construction phase. You will ensure schemes meet the Client's Asset Management Programme (AMP) objectives and regulatory commitments regarding performance and schedule.

Role

This diverse role covers key areas such as Health & Safety, Planning, Technical, Leadership & Management, Quality, Cost, and Client Management, ensuring no two days are the same. A typical day includes:

  • Applying your understanding of design principles within the water industry across infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in water and wastewater settings, ensuring correct technical knowledge and resource allocation based on individual strengths.
  • Ensuring collaboration within your team for right-first-time design across disciplines, considering buildability, client preferences, and subcontractor designs.
  • Contributing to and managing project clause 31 and 32 programmes, with an understanding of task planning and short interval control within the wider project planning.
  • Checking and approving designs and initiating project reviews as necessary.
  • Communicating key risks and opportunities across projects.
What are we looking for?

This Role Is Great For You If

  • You have a working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and related guidance (L153).
  • You are experienced with Autodesk Construction Cloud as the CDE, managing digital content delivery and approval.
  • You hold a degree-level engineering qualification.
  • You hold CSCS accreditation or are willing to obtain it during employment.
  • You possess a full UK driving licence.
