Job summary

Job description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To deliver on-going specialist assessments of adult service users referred to, and under the care of the CRHTT.
  • To establish and deliver clinical supervision -group and individual - to the CRHT practitioners in line with current good practice and with the Trusts supervision policy.
  • To develop formulations of presenting problems or situations that integrates information from assessments alongside other team members.
  • To be responsible for implementing a range of interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups.
  • To provide specialist professional advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to service users' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • To undertake risk assessment and risk management for service users within CRHTT working within Trust and inter-agency policies and procedures, including work with service users deemed as vulnerable adults.
  • To act as lead clinician for undertaking assessments and advising service users other mental health professionals in matters arising from the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults framework

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Professional qualifications
  • Evidence of post qualification training
  • Post registration training in risk management
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification (or within a year of being in post)
Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with clients in acute mental health need
  • Experience of providing clinical leadership into a mental health multi disciplinary team
  • Proven experience of good working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of managing workload, ability to prioritise
  • Evidence of clinical supervision training and/or experience
  • Working in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience of interagency working and liaison
Desirable criteria
  • Lived experience of mental health
  • Experience of working within a CRHTT
  • Experience of working with wider stakeholder groups , Care Pathway Teams, independent sector agencies
  • Qualification or significant experience using CBT, DBT, MBT or CAT with service users
  • Experience of working within an acute inpatient service
  • Experience or working within an adult community mental health service

  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with difficult to engage clients
  • Good understanding and use of Care Programme Approach, Care Planning and Care Management
  • Good understanding of the practical application of Recovery Principles
  • Knowledge of policy and legislation relating to metal health and social care services

  • Must be able to utilise basic IT, in particular email, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Demonstration of therapeutic optimism for working in a CRHTT service

  • Understanding of the local and national health economy
  • Understanding of the implication of current national guidance i.e Mental Health Crisis Concordant on CRHTT services
