We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with experience in quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed methods public health research and project management, and a strong interest in working across disciplines and in partnership with communities.

The successful candidate will join RECENTRE (undeRstanding EpidemiCs in prEgnaNt and lacTating people and infants: an inteRdisciplinary nEtwork), an ambitious 18-month project funded by the Wellcome Trust to establish an interdisciplinary research network for (re)emerging infections in pregnancy, lactation and infancy.

About the role

In this post you will bring expertise in quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed methods public health research, and an interest in interdisciplinarity and co-production.

This post involves taking the lead on the coordination of project activities and undertaking key formative work to inform the development of the RECENTRE network. Key aspects include: working in collaboration with a diverse team; mapping and synthesising existing interdisciplinary work in infectious diseases; conducting a priority setting exercise with affected communities and key stakeholders; supporting the organisation of a research sandpit; co-organising a research symposium; synthesising outputs for dissemination to a wide range of stakeholders (including website, social media, blogs and academic articles); and grant writing.

This is a full-time role (i.e. 1.0 FTE, 36.5 hours per week) and it is available from April 2025 for 18 months in the first instance.

Appointment will be made at Grade 6B unless the applicant has been awarded a PhD or has equivalent substantial working experience in relevant discipline (e.g. public health, medical anthropology, medical sociology, mixed methods) when appointment will be made at Grade 7.

Please visit UCL Careers website for further information.
