Operations Administrator

Metro Rod Glasgow

Location: East Kilbride

Hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri

Salary: £27,000-£30,000 DOE Plus Benefits

Metro Rod works with clients such as Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Mitie, Clarion, Axa, Wetherspoons, and many more across sectors including FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial, and Leisure. Despite over 40 years of operation, we are a fast-growing, dynamic business within the Franchise Brands group.

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading providers of drain clearance and maintenance services, delivered largely reactively. Our services are provided by over 60 franchisees across the UK. We have a longstanding reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, trusted by major companies and high street brands for drain maintenance. We also operate Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions, providing a comprehensive water and waste management service.

We are seeking an experienced Administrator to join our busy office in East Kilbride. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy office environment, with a proactive approach. You will liaise with internal and external customers and support various administrative duties in our small but busy office.

Role Responsibilities
  • Making travel and meeting arrangements
  • Preparing reports
  • Maintaining filing systems

The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be proficient with MS Excel and office equipment, and ideally have previous experience as a Secretary or Executive Administrative Assistant, preferably within our industry. The role aims to ensure the smooth daily operation of our office.

What We Look For
  • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant, Personal Assistant, or Office Administrator
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Availability to cover some on-call work, including manning the phone between 5pm and 7pm on weekdays and occasional weekends
