Job Description

To ensure the smooth day to day running of the technical function and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to.

The main responsibilities of the role are detailed as follows; please note that this list is not exhaustive:

• Assisting the Production team where possible.
• Providing engineering solutions and assisting in an operational capacity.
• Monitoring all machines and ancillary plant.
• Following preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
• Repairs during production.
• Planned maintenance.
• Inspection outside production hours; some weekend overtime working will be required to suit the business needs.
• Ideally, you may have worked with packaging machinery within an FMCG environment with supporting college/technical qualifications in line with engineering experience to date.
• Familiar with maintaining packing equipment.
• Experience of pneumatics.
• Horizontal flow packers.
• Carton erectors.
• Gluing systems.
• Metal detectors / X-ray machinery.
• Check weighers.
• Pallet wrapping machines.
• Shrink wrapping.
• Various bespoke hand packing / labelling lines, some with printers.

Qualifications

• To carry out scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard.
• To carry out changeovers when required.
• Look for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.
• To follow set procedures and guidelines with respect to food safety and hygiene.
• Health and Safety, Lock off, etc.
• To assist in colleague training and development when required.
• To ensure that best work practices and housekeeping are adhered to.
• Drive own personal development through training and work-based experience.
• To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
