Risk and Controls Consultant (Digital Tech)

London or Swindon office

Hybrid role (x2 days on site/ x3 work from home)

Digital Risk & Control is looking for a Senior Consultant - Risk and Control Partnering, Digital & AI to join the team, with a specific emphasis on emerging digital technology and Generative AI advancements in the financial services and digital industry.

You’ll be part of a high-performing risk team, supporting colleagues working at the forefront of digital communication, delivering high-quality analysis to ensure safe digital experiences. This involves stakeholder engagement, report building & maintenance, challenging the status quo, and advocating for customers in the fast-paced digital landscape.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Partner effectively with COO Digital, AI, Tech, and business stakeholders to stay informed about digital industry changes that could lead to operational risk events. Provide risk advice and support the presentation of risk assessments and committee papers to promote risk management and fair customer outcomes.
  2. Collaborate with teams across COO Digital, COO AI CoE, COO GRC, Policy partners, and Business risk partners to identify, assess, manage, monitor, and review risks and controls related to digital products and services.
  3. Show flexibility and work with momentum, delivering at pace, listening and absorbing quickly, and challenging effectively to achieve the right outcomes.
  4. Develop and enhance controls landscape; adapt existing controls and guardrails for innovation and emerging tech. Monitor critical controls and report insights to management.
  5. Support loss event management, investigation, and reporting.
  6. Navigate operational risk and control environments, collaborating with security, data, and technology areas, considering member impact and fair outcomes.
  7. Analyze horizon risks, monitor existing risks, evaluate new risks, and assess control effectiveness using corporate risk systems, providing reports to management.
  8. Assist in producing control declarations and committee reports aligned with Group risk standards.
  9. Proactively analyze KRIs and control testing results, working with the business to develop action plans.

About you

You should be pragmatic, collaborative, and adaptable to a challenging environment.

Minimum requirements:

  • Deep understanding of product and/or digital journeys within your organization.
  • Experience with risk and control management techniques.
  • Experience supporting change delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and preparing risk assessments and committee papers.
  • Data analysis experience, with a focus on MI.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and developments in digital and technology sectors within financial services, with some experience in tech transformation.
