We are advertising for both Educational Psychologists and Senior Educational Psychologists.

A positive review of Derbyshire Educational Psychology Service (EPS) and its contribution to Derbyshire residents, schools, and families. We are pleased to advertise at least two full-time equivalent Educational Psychologist posts. We are looking for talented colleagues to bring their enthusiasm and skills to the service to deliver our service vision and mission:

Making a Difference: Enabling positive change through listening, optimism, and insight

Derbyshire EPs have positive and well-established relationships within the county, and our professional contributions are valued by partner agencies. We offer a wide range of commissioned work and have a strong traded early intervention offer to schools via a subscription model. In the academic year 2024-2025, the service has been commissioned to deliver:

  • Parental workshops delivered through the Derby City and Derbyshire Neuro Hubs
  • Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools programme (PINS)
  • Ongoing support for EBSA and removing barriers to education
  • Emotional Literacy Support Assistant training and reflective supervision (ELSA)
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) reflective supervision
  • Mighty Creatives reflective supervision
  • Collaborative support for Adoption East Midlands practitioners
  • Collaborative systemic working and complex case support with Derbyshire Virtual School

The child-centred and holistic approach to our work ensures strong working relationships with educational settings and parents. We use listening skills, an optimistic outlook, and psychological insight to problem-solve and make a difference. The service provides a comprehensive induction process to ensure a warm welcome to all new starters. Applications are welcome from fully qualified EPs seeking new challenges and those in their second or final year of training. All qualified candidates must be registered to practice with the HCPC.

The hours of the post are flexible if required and may be located in our Buxton, Chesterfield, or Denby offices. We typically offer a starting salary for newly qualified EPs at Soulbury EP Scale A point 4. Salaries for qualified EPs currently in employment will be matched where possible, and previous SPA awards will be honored.

Provisional interview dates are: SEPs on 10th June 2025 and main grade EPs on 16th June 2025.
