We are looking for talented colleagues to bring their enthusiasm and skills to the service to deliver our service vision and mission:
Making a Difference: Enabling positive change through listening, optimism, and insight
Derbyshire EPs have positive and well-established relationships within the county, and our professional contributions are valued by partner agencies. We offer a wide range of commissioned work and have a strong traded early intervention offer to schools via a subscription model. In the academic year 2024-2025, the service has been commissioned to deliver:
The child-centred and holistic approach to our work ensures strong working relationships with educational settings and parents. We use listening skills, an optimistic outlook, and psychological insight to problem-solve and make a difference. We are valued for the impact of our high-quality casework, training, therapeutic work, systems work, and research, which enable positive change and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
We are a strong, supportive team with professional autonomy. We use a fair, equitable, and transparent system to allocate work across the service. All EPs are given protected time to develop our service, demonstrating commitment to distributed leadership and innovation. The service provides a comprehensive induction process to ensure a warm welcome to all new starters. Successful candidates will enjoy a range of CPD and co-working opportunities, access to regular supervision, opportunities to engage in projects, dedicated administrative support, and pay progression.
We offer flexible working arrangements and hybrid working where this meets the needs of the service. The EPS has excellent links with regional training courses, providing opportunities for further professional development. We recognize and value the importance of building a resilient team culture, supporting staff wellbeing, and promoting cross-base working. The service is committed to championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. Our core values—Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Kindness—underpin all decision-making.
Applications are welcome from fully qualified EPs seeking new challenges and those in their second or final year of training. All qualified candidates must be registered to practice with the HCPC.
The hours of the post are flexible if required and may be located in our Buxton, Chesterfield, or Denby offices. We typically offer a starting salary for newly qualified EPs at Soulbury EP Scale A point 4. Salaries for qualified EPs currently in employment will be matched where possible, and previous SPA awards will be honored.
