A key client of ours is hiring a very senior IT consultant to help deliver their retail omni-channel strategy with the right IT infrastructure in place. The leadership team at this iconic retail brand recognizes that they won't be able to fully realize their strategic goals without a dedicated, expert role to advise and overhaul their IT operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong consumer industry background, particularly in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG, and experience advising top DTC brands.

Scope of Work

The client requires a consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of existing systems across their head office, supply chain, and digital customer experience points. The role involves working directly with senior leadership to provide recommendations on:

• Customer services and online experience
• Website functionality and performance
• Stock system infrastructure
• Smaller wholesale business functions
• Customer acquisition strategies and challenges
• Existing versus future tech capabilities

The consultant is expected to:

• Deep dive into current systems and strategies
• Identify improvement opportunities
• Provide actionable roadmaps
• Implement quick wins where possible
• Support growth and consumer engagement through insights

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong background in consumer-driven environments, ideally from large, corporate organizations (e.g., Waitrose, P&G). A strong DTC background with a large, iconic brand is essential.
• Experience working in complex, matrix organizations focusing on customer journey and experience.
• Ability to work confidently in highly creative and dynamic environments, influencing stakeholders effectively.
• This is a strategic advisory role; team management is not required.
• Comfortable with a hybrid work model, initially 3 days/week in the office, with flexibility to reduce to 2 days.

Logistics & Timeline

• Role outside IR35
• Part-time options (3-4 days/week)
• Day rate: £800-1000
• Start: Early May (flexible for the right candidate)
• Duration: 6 months, with potential extension to 9 months

Recruitment Process
