Full Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Process Engineer (Water and Wastewater) based in Midlands, UK.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Design Manager to deliver Coffey design works across Ireland and the UK, for both public and private sector clients.
- Assist the Tendering Department by producing relevant, high-quality tender submissions as required, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Produce and develop process design deliverables for different tenders and project stages, including process selection, calculations, P&ID and PFD development, mass balance, system description, and control philosophy.
- Assist the commercial/estimating team in developing CAPEX and OPEX models.
- Review and develop Coffey tender/preliminary and detailed designs; propose value engineering measures to enhance economic viability and robustness.
- Conduct site visits to municipal and private-sector water and wastewater treatment plants, producing assessment reports with recommendations and preliminary cost estimates.
- Develop Drinking Water Safety Plans (DWSP) following WHO standards, including health targets, system assessment, monitoring, and communication.
- Review proposed designs for future O&M considerations and participate in HAZOP studies and workshops.
- Manage time effectively to complete work within set timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical support to the O&M Department, including testing, site audits, and process improvement recommendations.
- Assist in testing and commissioning water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Support commercial and contractual matters related to O&M.
- Travel to project sites and regional offices as required.
- Mentor junior engineers, scientists, technicians, and designers.
About You
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in process design or equivalent.
- Proven track record in delivering technical designs across process, civil, mechanical, and electrical/ICA elements.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
