Job Description:

Following retirement, The Street Cleansing team are seeking two Community operatives on a permanent basis.

This is a front-facing service role requiring individuals who care about their community and take pride in their work, striving to go the extra mile, with a positive, can-do attitude towards problem-solving. We particularly welcome applications from the BAME community.

Your primary duties will include maintaining community bins, litter picking, clearing dog fouling, and responding to reports of fly-tipping, sharps, and hazardous waste.

Part of this role involves working across departments, which may include treating weeds, grass cutting, and supporting park and highway maintenance.

This role is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, walking long distances, and working in all weather conditions while operating plant machinery on highways.

Flexibility in working hours is required, including evenings and weekends where necessary, with enhancements payable for such hours.

This position is career graded based on possession of a Full UK Driving Licence and passing a driving assessment.
