Following retirement, the Street Cleansing team is seeking two Community Operatives on a permanent basis.
This is a front-facing service role requiring individuals who care about their community and take pride in their work. We value a positive, can-do attitude towards problem-solving and welcome applications from the BAME community.
Your primary duties will include maintaining community bins, proactive litter picking, clearing dog fouling, and responding to customer reports of fly-tipping, sharps, and other hazardous waste.
Part of this role involves working across departments, including treating weeds, grass cutting, and supporting the maintenance of parks, town centres, and highways.
The role is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, walking long distances, and working in all weather conditions while operating plant machinery on highways.
Due to the nature of the work, you must have a flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends, with enhancements payable for these hours.
This position is career graded based on holding a Full UK Driving Licence and passing a driving assessment.
Please refer to the attached job description and employee specification when completing your application to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria.
