GBP675 - GBP750 per week (Based on 37.5 hours)

About the Role:
Connex Education is seeking a resilient, compassionate, and child-focused tutor to support learners in Birmingham B7 4QR and surrounding communities. This rewarding role involves delivering 1:1 home-based tuition for children and young people aged 5 to 25 who are currently outside of mainstream education. Many learners face challenges such as SEND, SEMH, autism, or trauma-related barriers.
As a Home Tutor, you ll be instrumental in supporting both academic progress and emotional well-being, helping each learner thrive at their own pace. The ideal candidate is someone who truly cares about children s development, remains calm under pressure, and can build strong, trusting relationships with both students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition aligned with EHCPs and individual learning goals
Support emotional and academic progress in a safe, nurturing space
Track progress and adapt lessons to meet changing needs
Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure consistency
Engage students using a variety of communication methods, such as Makaton or visual aids
Assignment Details:
Start date: ASAP
Location: Primarily B7 4QR, with travel to nearby areas
Schedule: Five sessions per week (full-time equivalent)
Duration: Long-term
What We re Looking For:
QTS preferred, but not essential we welcome applications from experienced educators and tutors
Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum from primary to post-16
Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or trauma
Calm, empathetic, and resilient able to work independently
Must be willing to travel locally (a full driving licence is desirable)
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
