Job description

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our estate, including assets, vehicles, buildings, and equipment. Your work will help keep everything safe, reliable, and functioning at its best.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, and other equipment.
  2. Carry out diagnostic work and fault-finding to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  3. Use and maintain tools, machinery, and company equipment safely and effectively.
  4. Conduct preventative maintenance and remedial repairs, including working at height or in confined spaces when required.
  5. Complete all documentation accurately using both IT and paper-based systems.
  6. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and asset users to ensure smooth site operations.
  7. Provide mentorship and support to apprentices or trainees.
  8. Undertake driving tasks, including operating specialist plant machinery if required.
The Ideal Candidate
  1. Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ) or equivalent, with relevant experience.
  2. Full UK driving licence (Category C desirable).
  3. Solid understanding of health & safety practices, including COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  4. Knowledge of specialist equipment (e.g., plant machinery and generators).
  5. IT proficiency to complete documentation and reports.
  6. Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment effectively.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and a proven track record of meeting objectives.
  8. Excellent communication skills and experience dealing with customers.
  9. Willingness to undertake training for high-risk environments (e.g., working at height or in confined spaces).
