A leading company in the UK seeks a Health and Safety Manager to deliver health, safety, and environmental risk strategies. The role involves maintaining compliance, leading safety culture programs, and ensuring thorough incident investigations. Candidates should have Nebosh Level 3 and extensive experience in accident investigation and ISO standards.
Responsible for delivering the health, safety, and environmental risk strategy of the business as set by the Head of Safety & Risk.
Deliver ISO certified safety and environmental management systems.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for Smiths News on Health and Safety, Environmental risk, and Safety Culture, covering all road transport and operational yard safety at Smiths News and third-party locations.
Own company health and safety policies, training, and audit regimes, ensuring suitable and sufficient arrangements are in place and managed.
Lead Human Factors and Safety Culture Awareness programs in conjunction with the Head of Safety and Risk to foster a positive safety culture.
Maintain positive relationships and dialogue with internal and external stakeholders interested in the company's safety and legal compliance (e.g., HSE, DVSA, Local Authorities, Trade Bodies).
Ensure all incidents and accidents are thoroughly investigated by trained colleagues, with escalation as appropriate, and liaise with external stakeholders such as emergency services and media.
