Overview

We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the efficient operation of our Region, including SME, Brand Partners, Wholesale, and George Burrows.

This role also involves strategic oversight of the Affinity & Bank teams, with a focus on growing UK Retail.

The leader will foster a vibrant Sales and Marketing culture within the Region & Affinities, ensuring excellent client conduct and customer outcomes. Your leadership will be key in building an engaged, high-performing team committed to achieving financial, customer, and colleague KPIs.

You will drive continuous improvement for customers and colleagues, working closely with senior business leaders, US stakeholders, and third parties to deliver UK strategic and annual business plans.

Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements while effectively addressing the needs of customers, regulators, colleagues, and US stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include meeting financial performance targets and establishing a strong business partnership model to support other functions, facilitating the execution of our business strategy.

How you'll make an impact

1. Deliver the Regional & Affinity Strategy

  • Work with senior leaders to ensure effective delivery of the Regional & Affinity Partnerships strategy.
  • Monitor performance against plans, report issues and solutions.
  • Gather customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Communicate complex information clearly across various channels.
  • Create and sustain a Sales and Marketing culture to drive profitable growth, ensuring adherence to processes, including sales management, client activity, lead generation, and niche expertise utilization.
  • Support migration of SME business to centralized centers and promote non-risk income performance.
  • Promote understanding of Client Conduct and risk issues, ensuring compliance and addressing shortcomings.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Gallagher with clients, communities, and professional bodies.

2. Financial and Data Management

  • Develop business plan and budget aligned with objectives.
  • Drive achievement of P&L targets.
  • Manage regional budget effectively.
  • Provide accurate, timely data reports for business operations.

3. Lead and Develop the Region & Affinity Partnerships

  • Create an inclusive, engaged team culture.
  • Review engagement surveys and act on results.
  • Lead or participate in change programs, embedding adaptability.
  • Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and link rewards to performance.
  • Oversee team development, including professional qualifications and succession planning.
  • Monitor resource planning and retention risks.
  • Ensure fair recruitment and effective team communication.
  • Build a pipeline of talented individuals for growth.

4. Risk and Governance

  • Implement and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Identify, mitigate, and report risks.
  • Ensure policies, processes, and conduct adhere to Gallagher standards and FCA regulations.
  • Ensure team compliance with training, CPD, and conduct rules.
  • Model good conduct and report breaches.
  • Comply with FCA’s Senior Manager & Certification Regime and Principles for Business.

5. Participation on Boards and Committees

  • Attend or be a member of relevant Boards and Committees within the Gallagher UK group.

About You

Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced ACII qualification (desirable).

Technical Knowledge

  • Experience in a Certified role or strong understanding of requirements.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, legal principles, and risk practices.
  • Understanding of FCA regulations.

Experience and Skills

  • Extensive people management experience.
  • Business acumen, commerciality, and risk awareness.
  • Stakeholder engagement and influence skills.
  • Results-driven with a growth mindset.
  • Self-awareness and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization with integrity and confidentiality.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
