Job description

Location: 3 days a week onsite in either London or Newcastle office.

NOTE: Must be German speaking.

My client is a software provider in the business management space, offering solutions for various business functions to help small and medium-sized businesses streamline operations and stay compliant.

They are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to work closely with both development and operations teams, focusing on deploying, monitoring, and improving infrastructure through automation and modern cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Take full ownership of assigned services, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
2. Design and implement scalable and secure cloud solutions with a focus on automation.
3. Promote DevOps best practices, including CI/CD processes.
4. Lead resolution of service incidents, including root cause analysis and stakeholder communication.
5. Collaborate across teams to meet security, performance, and operational standards.
6. Create and manage infrastructure as code and automated deployment pipelines.
7. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota for business-critical services.
8. Identify and implement improvements to operational processes and tooling.
9. Require significant experience in DevOps, SRE, Systems Administration, or similar roles (ideally 5+ years).
10. Proven hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with Kubernetes experience preferred.
11. Experience with applications deployed in AWS or Azure using distributed computing, containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technologies.
12. Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring tools.
13. Associate or Professional-level cloud certifications.
14. Experience with serverless technologies and containerized workloads.
15. Exposure to software development, QA, or broader IT operations functions.
