A leading local authority in London is seeking an experienced social worker to lead a team dedicated to improving social work practice for children. We are seeking an experienced social worker who is a dynamic leader and is keen to develop their career in management. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering an excellent service during a child's journey to receive the right help at the right time. We have a progressive Practice Academy, which serves as a professional development hub for Social Workers at all levels, from students and newly qualified social workers to strategic social work leaders. The Practice Academy aims to provide a clear model using Compassion Focused Approaches and Systemic Practice to improve the consistency of our work and benefit the children and families of Greenwich who use our services.

Our Care Teams include 7 Social Work teams that provide services to children in our care. Their main responsibilities include ensuring effective care planning, safeguarding, permanence arrangements, placement suitability, and stability. The teams also handle care proceedings in the Family Court, providing assessment evidence and opinions to assist in determining permanence outcomes for children. Additionally, the service has appointed a Court Progression Manager to support case oversight and quality assurance in pre (PLO) and care proceedings.
