The Role

This is a full-time role based in London. The Sixth Street Insurance Operations & Program Management Office (PMO) Team is responsible for providing support, subject matter expertise, and strategic insight to the Sixth Street Insurance business unit and Sixth Street portfolio companies. As an Insurance Operations Program Manager in the Sixth Street Insurance Operations & PMO Team, you will play a key role in the continued build-out and expansion of the Insurance business unit in the following areas:

• Operations, expense, and technology due diligence of M&A / deal pipeline
• Insurance business unit project portfolio management and report syndication support
• Program and project management of key initiatives
• Management of key business processes for the Sixth Street Insurance team
• Support of portfolio company technology projects, system/data conversions, portfolio / product integrations, and outsourcing efforts
• Operating expense planning and budgeting analysis and oversight of portfolio companies
• Mature interaction and engagement models with portfolio companies

The candidate will work closely with Sixth Street’s investment professionals, portfolio company leadership teams, and internal and external partners to drive performance improvements across the platform and maximize Sixth Street returns. The candidate will provide support for the Sixth Street Insurance European portfolio companies as well as, U.S. portfolio companies. The overall objective of the role is to increase the value of the insurance portfolio by working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver on the Insurance Business Plan.

Core Responsibilities

• Work with portfolio companies to enhance operational, technology, and expense performance
• Perform operational due diligence on deals / M&A transactions; assess operational and technology synergies and conduct operating expense analysis to inform bid pricing
• Partner across Sixth Street Asset Management, Accounting, Operations, and Engineering teams to build-out and mature infrastructure to onboard and manage insurance LP investment management mandates
• Provide strategic advice, insights, and support to portfolio companies on their technology transformations, data and portfolio migrations, and outsourcing strategies
• Contribute to portfolio company operating expense and budgeting planning including staffing level assessments
• Provide operational risk oversight of portfolio companies and support operational risk assessments
• Recommend and support strategies to improve operations, process management, and project portfolio management of the Insurance business unit
• Contribute to improving and refining interaction and engagement models between Sixth Street and insurance portfolio companies
• Support the broader Insurance team on various projects across Europe and globally
• Partner across the Insurance business unit and other Sixth Street business units to deliver value for the franchise
• Work with Insurance portfolio companies on strategic priorities including outsourcing and vendor contract development and negotiation
• Success over the first 6-12 months will be defined by ability to drive improvement in the overall operational maturity of the Insurance business unit and the Insurance portfolio companies, with a specific focus on execution of the integration roadmap of a recently signed joint venture

• Thorough understanding of how to evaluate ROI of various operations and technology improvement opportunities
• Deep experience in financial services operations, preferably life insurance, annuities, and pensions in the European or U.K. markets
• Familiarly with investment and asset management operations for insurance companies a plus
• MBA, consulting experience, and PMP a plus
• Experience in private equity or alternative asset management a plus

Provision of personal data to Sixth Street is generally voluntary but we require certain information in order to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations and in order to perform our contractual obligations to you.

How we use your personal data

We (and our service providers performing services on our behalf) use and process the personal data that we collect, subject to applicable law, including for the following purposes:

• Managing our workforce: managing work activities and personnel generally, including recruitment tasks such as processing applications and analysing qualifications, diversity and inclusion monitoring, background checking and providing access to facilities. We process personal data for these purposes on the basis that it is necessary for our legitimate interests in managing and administering our business, ensuring our business is adequately resourced, and implementing and enforcing compliance with our internal policies and legal and regulatory obligations.
• Communications, facilities and emergencies: facilitating communication with you, ensuring business continuity, including protecting the health and safety of Applicants and others, safeguarding and maintaining IT infrastructure, office equipment, facilities and other property. We process personal data for these purposes on the basis that it is necessary for our legitimate interests in managing and administering our business, and administering, maintaining and ensuring the security of our IT systems and premises.
• Business operations: operating and managing IT, communications systems and facilities, and monitoring the usage of these resources, improving our services, allocating and managing human resources, strategic planning, business continuity, compilation of audit trails and other reporting tools, communications, managing mergers, acquisitions, sales, reorganisations or disposals and integration with purchasers. We process personal data for these purposes on the basis that it is necessary for our legitimate interests in managing and administering our business or to discharge our regulatory obligations or because we are required to do so by law.
• Legal and compliance: compliance with legal, regulatory and other requirements, such as record-keeping and reporting obligations, physical access policies, conducting audits, management and resolution of health and safety matters, compliance with requests from government or other public authorities, responding to legal process such as subpoenas and court orders, pursuing legal rights and remedies, defending litigation, conducting investigations, ensuring that Applicants meet any applicable regulatory standards for their role and complying with internal policies and procedures. We process personal data for these purposes on the basis that we are required to do so by law or to discharge our regulatory obligations, for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, and/or in connection with our legitimate interest in complying with non-EEA/UK legal and regulatory obligations.
• Sensitive information: we may also collect and process certain types of Sensitive Personal Data for specific purposes, including: the collection of health/medical information in order to accommodate a disability or illness, to establish fitness to work, diversity-related personal data (such as gender, race or ethnicity), and information relating to criminal, credit and other background checks. Further, we may collect and process your health, medical and travel related information to protect the safety of our workforce in response to a pandemic or other public health issue. We do not collect your Sensitive Personal Data unless we are required or permitted to do so by applicable law or regulations, or you have, in accordance with applicable law, provided your explicit consent to the collection and processing of your Sensitive Personal Data.

Data sharing

Given the globally integrated nature of our business we may share your personal data for the above mentioned purposes with Sixth Street-related entities in other jurisdictions, including the United States of America.

We may also share personal data with service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as recruitment platforms, analytics providers and information technology and hosting providers. In accordance with applicable law, where applicable, we will have entered into legally binding agreements requiring them to use or disclose personal data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf for the purposes described in this Notice or comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

In addition, we (and our service providers) may disclose personal data about you (a) if we or they are required or permitted to do so (i) by law or legal process, for example due to a court order or a request from a law enforcement agency, or (ii) to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights, or (iii) by our regulator(s) or any applicable regulations; (b) when we or they believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, (c) in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or other illegal activity, or (d) in connection with (i) fundraising, (ii) the making, management or disposition of any of our investments, or (iii) business continuity purposes.

Data Transfers

We (or our service providers) may transfer the personal data that we collect about you to recipients in countries other than the country in which the personal data originally was collected. Those countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the personal data, and may offer a lower level of protection. When we or they transfer your personal data to recipients in other countries (such as the U.S.), we or they will protect that personal data in a way that is consistent with this Notice.

We or they will comply with applicable legal requirements providing adequate protection for the transfer of personal data to recipients in countries outside of the EEA and UK and Switzerland. In all such cases, we or they will only transfer your personal data if:

• The country to which the personal data will be transferred has been granted a European Commission adequacy decision; or
• We have put in place appropriate safeguards in respect of the transfer, for example the EU or UK Standard Contractual Clauses.

How we protect your personal data

We (and our service providers) maintain technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data against loss or accidental, unlawful or unauthorised, alteration, access, disclosure or use. We implement and maintain reasonable security appropriate to the nature of the personal information that we collect, use, retain, transfer or otherwise process. While we are committed to developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and updating a reasonable information security program, no such program can be perfect; in other words, all risk cannot reasonably be eliminated. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• request confirmation of whether we process personal data relating to you and, if so, to request a copy of that personal data
• request that we rectify or update your personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated
• request that we erase your personal data in certain circumstances, such as where we collected personal data on the basis of your consent and you withdraw that consent
• request that we restrict the use of your personal data in certain circumstances such as while we consider another request that you have submitted, for example a request that we update your personal data;
• withdraw your consent where you have given us consent to process your personal data; and object to our processing your personal data in certain circumstances, for example where we process it on the basis of our legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes; and in certain circumstances, request that we provide you with a copy of your personal data which you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format and/or that we transmit that data to a third party (where this is technically feasible).
