Job description

The Birtenshaw Group is seeking to appoint a Transport and Estates Manager to oversee operations across our Bolton and Merseyside sites.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the following sites: Birtenshaw School Merseyside, Birtenshaw College, and Birtenshaw Care and Enrichment services.

Please note that this role requires at least two days per week at the Birtenshaw Merseyside site, with increased requirements during periods of annual leave coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily transportation routes, staffing rotas, and vehicle requirements; oversee minor vehicle maintenance, including fueling, oil checks, and cleaning.
• Supervise reactive and preventative maintenance, conduct weekly health and safety, fire, and site inspections.
• Handle out-of-hours management for Bolton and Merseyside sites and coordinate responses to emergencies.
• Line manage drivers, caretakers, and passenger escorts; ensure all drivers complete and submit daily mileage and pre-trip reports.
• Perform driving duties as required.
• Maintain health and safety standards across all vehicles operated by staff.
• Ensure site security and uphold best practices at all times.

Applicants must hold a full UK manual driving license, including D1, for at least two years.
