The opportunity

An industry-leading UK manufacturer is undergoing a significant transformation, and we’re seeking exceptional project management professionals to play a pivotal role in delivering this high-profile industrial investment.

Backed by substantial funding and of strategic national importance, this major redevelopment includes the construction of a state-of-the-art, highly automated machine shop—set to redefine the future of advanced manufacturing in the defence, nuclear, and renewable energy sectors. This is a rare opportunity to lead a project that will enhance the UK’s sovereign manufacturing capabilities and push engineering boundaries.

This organisation is renowned for pioneering new technologies, including Electron Beam Welding, ultra-large castings and forgings, and delivering high-integrity components for mission-critical applications. Their work is central to offshore energy, the UK’s nuclear programme, and high-security defence projects, and this investment will secure their position at the forefront of global engineering.

As a project management professional, you will oversee and lead the delivery of this complex, multi-phase industrial development. You will collaborate with world-class engineers, technology specialists, and construction partners to ensure the project is delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest standards of quality.

If you are an ambitious Project Manager or an experienced project leader who thrives in high-profile, technically complex environments, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the UK’s industrial landscape.

Requirements

You should have strong project management experience with a technical background in the construction sector and ideally hold professional qualifications and memberships (e.g., MCIOB, MAPM). Experience with NEC contracts is also preferred.

  • NEC accreditation or NEC project management experience is desirable
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain it
  • Experience leading large, complex construction programmes
  • A technical construction background is essential
  • Ability to work independently with strong motivation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in client-facing environments
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, and commercially astute
  • Commitment to working a minimum of 4 days on-site (Monday to Thursday)

Our client promotes a healthy, productive, and flexible working environment that respects work-life balance. They are an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Applications from all parts of the community are encouraged.
