JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, Environment - Nature

SALARY: £76,194 - £89,640

LOCATION(S): Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

This is an opportunity to bring your experience and technical expertise on nature to Lloyds Banking Group where you’ll play a key role in delivering our sustainability ambitions!

As Senior Manager, Nature, you’ll be part of a team of sustainability specialists responsible for shaping the Group-wide approach to nature, providing strategic advice based on specialist nature-related knowledge, market insights, and trends.

You’ll be part of the Group Sustainable Business team, which plays an important role in enabling Lloyds Banking Group’s purpose ambitions and activities, including defining ambitions and actions across areas such as affordable homes, financial empowerment, regional development, transition to net zero, and protecting nature.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing guidance on the assessment and management of nature-related impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintaining relationships with the Environment-Climate team to coordinate climate and nature activities.
  • Drawing on external frameworks and initiatives (e.g., TNFD, SBTN, IPBES, WBCSD, WEF, UNEP-FI) to ensure risk assessments are based on the best data and metrics.
  • Collaborating with key partners across the Group to develop nature-related risk assessments.
  • Translating external nature requirements and assessing their impact on the Group’s business models.
  • Engaging in industry initiatives related to nature.
  • Sharing knowledge on nature-related frameworks with colleagues across all levels.
  • Leading and developing colleagues to build a high-performing team and embed innovative practices.
What You’ll Need
  • Deep understanding of global, regional, and national nature-related frameworks and their application to financial institutions.
  • Experience in assessment and management of nature-related issues, including data, metrics, and interconnections with climate and social issues.
  • Ability to conduct quantitative analysis and guide strategic decision-making.
  • Strong network with external bodies like TNFD, SBTN, IPBES, WBCSD, WEF, WWF, UNEP-FI.
  • Problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in managing senior relationships and communicating clearly and concisely.
