HR Advisor
Location: Office based, Hull
Salary: £31,500 per annum
Hours: 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
The Role
This is a generalist HR advisory role working closely with the HR Administrator based at the Hull site and supporting the Senior HR Advisor and HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Have a strong understanding of HR processes and support management with working practices, grievance, disciplinary, recruitment, pay, conditions of employment, equality and diversity, and staff welfare.
- Assist in the implementation of policies related to effective personnel management.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee performance and achieve company objectives.
- Manage role-related projects as required.
- Report on various HR metrics, including turnover and absence.
- Handle onboarding, induction, and leaver processes.
- Administer holiday and absence documentation and update HR records.
- Support employee retention and engagement initiatives.
- Manage data and ensure compliance.
- Advise managers on employee relations, HR processes, and procedures such as grievance, discipline, absence management, maternity, paternity, and flexible working.
- Support HR projects in line with company and departmental objectives.
- Assist in aspects of Health & Safety.
- Manage employee database and information spreadsheets.
- Perform HR administration duties.
- Promote data security and adhere to DPA and information security standards.
- Follow company policies and procedures, aligning with company values.
- Complete duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for effective relationships at all levels.
- Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and approachability.
- Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with high accuracy.
- Self-motivated with a focused work approach.
- Experience working within an HR team.
- Willingness to train as a Mental Health First Aider.
