This exciting opportunity is ideal for those with a caring nature, who are keen to make a difference in the lives of students, both academically and emotionally. The LSA will play a pivotal role in assisting class teachers and supporting students who may need extra help in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they are engaged and motivated.

  • Assist the classroom teacher with implementing personalised learning strategies and plans for students.

  • Help students access the curriculum effectively, ensuring they are able to participate fully in lessons.

  • Support students in developing their social, emotional, and behavioural skills in a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in students, promoting a growth mindset and resilience.

  • Assist with classroom management and support the teacher in creating a productive and welcoming learning environment.

  • Support students during break times and lunchtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

  • Help with any additional duties as required by the school, including classroom preparation and administrative tasks.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable but not essential.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students of varying ages and abilities.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students, particularly those who may require extra support.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to deliver the best learning outcomes for students.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Ideally, a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a background in a related field (such as child development or special education), though training can be provided for the right candidate.
